Tim Reed
Managing Director

Following a career in the chemical industry and latterly the waste industry, I set up Waste Efficiency in 2003 with a strong desire to deliver great service. That desire has become a passion and is central to the approach we bring to our customers. My belief is that if a waste company is not striving to continuously improve the environmental performance of its customers, then it is in the wrong business.

Outside of work I love the outdoors and I’m passionate about nature and walking. I am also a keen collector of whiskeys from around the world. I am fortunate to have recently become a grandad for the first time and am thoroughly enjoying learning my new role!

Bryan Mecrow

Finance Director

I have been with Waste Efficiency since late 2023 as Head of Finance. Bringing a wealth of experience from other industries, all of whom produced waste! Always looking to improve finance processes and quality of information produced for the benefit of the wider company, our customers and suppliers. When not doing numbers stuff I love playing and watching football, travelling as much as possible, listening to hair metal and watching low budget zombie movies.

Jack Hesketh

Commercial Manager

Passionate about sustainability, I joined Waste Efficiency in 2022 to support across the sales and marketing functions. My experience lies mainly in finance and technology businesses across London and the Southwest but realising some of the larger issues facing the environment, I’ve transitioned into waste management to bring my experience to more sustainable causes. In my spare time I enjoy running and reading (not at the same time), while I can also often be found stumbling around a squash court.

Chris Stringer

Head of Service Delivery

Having spent the last 15 years working in the waste and cleaning sector, I became increasingly aware of the sustainability and environmental challenges we face. This realisation led me to join Waste Efficiency in 2020 and I have not looked back since. As the Head of Service Delivery, my focus is on ensuring that every customer receives exceptional service tailored to their unique needs, as well as driving both environmental and operational improvements. Outside of work, I enjoy cycling, walking our dogs (which occasionally leads to a trip to the local) and travelling. I love sampling foods from across the world and trying to recreate those dishes when I get home.

Cath Jackson

Health, Safety and Quality Manager

I’m an experienced SHEQ (Safety, Health, Environment, and Quality) Manager in the waste management industry, with a background across waste and cleaning. I’m all about raising safety standards and improving how things run day to day. Sustainability is something I’m really passionate about, and I like to combine my technical know-how with a people-focused approach to keep things compliant and always moving forward. Outside of work, I’ve completed three marathons – proof of my perseverance and commitment! I’m also a big Wrexham AFC supporter and a huge NFL fan.

Claire Short

HR

I’ve been with Waste Efficiency since 2012 (time flies!) in various operational roles before finding my place in the HR and Payroll areas of the business. This is where my interest and passions lie and I love being able to see the business grow, helping to ensure the smooth running and management of all our personnel spread out across the UK. Outside of the office I’m a busy mum of two boys! When I’m not running round after them, I enjoy fitness and running.

Owien Harriott-Davis

Account Manager

I have worked at Waste Efficiency since 2019 and over that time I have developed a vast understanding of both the waste industry as well as facilities management. This has been from my time spent as an Operative as well as Operations/Sales support. I am now an Account Manager looking after a number of our customers across the UK. Outside of work I play rugby to a semi-professional level, I also enjoy taking my dog on walks (unless it’s raining!)

Karen Thompson

Senior Operations Support

I joined Waste Efficiency in 2016, still here and still loving it! I manage the day-to-day operations for our clients and liaise with suppliers to make sure everything runs nice and smoothly for their waste and recycling collections. It’s my dream job really, as recycling has been part of my life from childhood –from washing milk bottles on the doorstep to taking back pop bottles (& dad’s beer bottles) for a little bit of pocket money. I even nag family and friends (and workmates) to ensure everything that can be recycled is recycled. Outside of work, my recycling lifestyle continues, there’s nothing better than emptying a nice, chilled bottle of Chardonnay after a long week. Home life is busy with 4 grandchildren to entertain me and keep me on my toes.
