Pete Clutterbuck
Technical DirectorI joined Waste Efficiency in 2006 from a Board level Operations career in the industrial gas industry, initially as Operations Manager and subsequently as Director/Shareholder. My experience enables me to manage performance and safety but also it allows me to work with clients at a high level to deliver sustainable continuous improvements. I believe passionately in our organisations values and strive to ensure they are embraced throughout the organisation – Integrity, Quality, Compliance and Continuous improvement.
Ken Jones
Financial DirectorHaving spent 13 years within the accounting practice profession, achieving my ACA qualification, and honing my accounting and auditing skills across a multitude of sectors, I took the leap of faith to transition across to working in industry. In 2011, an exciting opportunity arose to join an expanding, ambitious and customer focused company – Waste Efficiency – and I have never looked back. I believe in the Company’s culture of working in partnership with its customers, to achieve the shared goals of striving towards sustainable and continued environmental performance improvements. Outside of the workplace I enjoy following (to a lesser degree playing now as the bones begin to start creaking) football and cricket, as well as relishing in the England / Wales rugby rivalry I have with my Welsh wife.
Dave Smith
Commercial ManagerI have been working within the waste industry for over 20 years now, and I think I have seen just about every kind of waste and recyclable material out there. Over the years I have worked with a range of businesses across many sectors, devising sustainability driven, total waste management solutions that fit seamlessly with operations and production processes. I am experienced in finding solutions for some of the more specialized wastes, everything from contaminated soils to clinical and hazardous materials, constantly looking for the most sustainable, commercially viable, routes for all kinds of things! Outside of work, I’m a dad to a rugby mad son and a part-time rock drummer!
Jack Hesketh
UK Operations ManagerPassionate about sustainability, I joined Waste Efficiency in 2022 to support across the sales and marketing functions. My experience lies mainly in finance and technology businesses across London and the Southwest but realising some of the larger issues facing the environment, I’ve transitioned into waste management to bring my experience to more sustainable causes. In my spare time I enjoy running and reading (not at the same time), while I can also often be found stumbling around a squash court.
Cath Jackson
Health, Safety and Quality ManagerI’ve been in this position for 12 months, although I have worked for WE for 8 years, 7 years based on a customer site as an Environmental Coordinator, being promoted in 2021 . I’m responsible for managing the Operations department, including monthly reviews with customers, managing all operational staff as well as all aspects of health and safety and ISO standards across our sites, making use of my experience and qualifications. Outside of work, first and foremost I’m a mother to Emilie, a passionate football and NFL fan, love to bake cakes and create masterpieces with icing and also a 2 time London Marathon runner in 2018 and 2020.
Claire Short
HRI’ve been with Waste Efficiency since 2012 (time flies!) in various operational roles before finding my place in the HR and Payroll areas of the business. This is where my interest and passions lie and I love being able to see the business grow, helping to ensure the smooth running and management of all our personnel spread out across the UK. Outside of the office I’m a busy mum of two crazy boys! When I’m not running round after them, I enjoy fitness and running.
Owien Harriott-Davis
Field ServicesI have worked at Waste Efficiency since 2019 and over that time I have developed a vast understanding of both the waste industry as well as facilities management. This has been from my time spent as an Operative as well as Operations/Sales support. I am now a Mobile Operations Supervisor looking after a number of our staff across the UK. Outside of work I play rugby to a semi-professional level, I also enjoy taking my dog on walks (unless it’s raining!)
Karen Thompson
Senior Operations SupportI joined Waste Efficiency in 2016, still here and still loving it! I manage the day-to-day operations for our clients and liaise with suppliers to make sure everything runs nice and smoothly for their waste and recycling collections. It’s my dream job really, as recycling has been part of my life from childhood –from washing milk bottles on the doorstep to taking back pop bottles (& dad’s beer bottles) for a little bit of pocket money. I even nag family and friends (and workmates) to ensure everything that can be recycled is recycled. Outside of work, my recycling lifestyle continues, there’s nothing better than emptying a nice, chilled bottle of Chardonnay after a long week. Home life is busy with 4 grandchildren to entertain me and keep me on my toes.
