Grupo Antolin

Reducing Costs through Smarter Collections

Read about how we took an innovative approach to hazardous waste collections saved Grupo Antolin £17,000 per year

Overview

Grupo Antolin’s site in Barton was facing high ongoing costs for disposing of glue and water waste via IBC collections. Waste Efficiency conducted a detailed review of the existing process and identified a more efficient and significantly cheaper alternative. The shift to a tanker-based service created immediate, repeatable savings and improved the site’s waste-handling flexibility.

Solution

Waste Efficiency evaluated the waste characteristics and proposed a switch to tanker collections with pricing based on tonnage rather than container units. The model reduced disposal costs to £75 per tonne with lower transport charges. We also advised the site on consolidating waste to enable larger, less frequent tanker collections—further reducing transport spend.

The new service cut costs by 68% per collection, delivering a saving of £1,293 each time. Over 12 months, the site diverted 66 tonnes through the new route, saving approximately £17,000 per year. The change created a more scalable, predictable, and efficient disposal process for the Barton operation.
