Environmental Policy
We recognize that our activities in the provision of waste and facilities management and cleaning services have environmental impacts and will as an organisation make a commitment to address these impacts and prevent pollution through our Environmental Management System. Though our (EMS) we will comply fully with new and existing environmental legislation. The company will seek to assess and where possible quantify its environmental impacts of its historic, current and future operations including the operations we subcontract to third parties. Additionally, Waste Efficiency will work co-operatively within the framework of the environmental objectives set by the environmental policies of its clients when engaged in onsite activities.
Having assessed, and where possible quantified, these environmental impacts Waste Efficiency will set objectives to seek to bring about a continuous improvement in its environmental performance through the setting of challenging targets.
The targets will relate to increased recycling of waste materials, landfill diversion, reductions in greenhouse gas emissions from transport movements and reductions in the hazardous nature of waste arisings.
All Waste Efficiency staff will have an awareness of the environmental aspects they are directly responsible for as well more general awareness of the company's EMS. This educational aspiration/objective will be achieved through the provision of environmental training courses, for example WAMITAB, where appropriate.
Waste Efficiency's EMS will be given direction through the activities of its EMS committee which has the participation and full commitment of the Managing Director. The committee will monitor and review the environmental performance of the company and audit its adherence to current and future set objectives.
